WILDLIFE EVERYWHERE
This past weekend the weather was just beautiful. Our manager, Melissa, headed out to Johnston Canyon for an afternoon hike. Along the way she spotted a mother bear and her cub, an enormous moose and a fox. It was just fantastic to see the area teeming with wildlife. All the cars were stopping at the side of the road to capture as many pictures as possible. It was a sight to see! For more information on Johnston Canyon check out http://www.banff.ca/activities-events/summer/banff-hiking/johnston-canyon.htm It’s almost the middle of the summer and time is flying. The bed and breakfast is in full swing with almost every night full this week. But please check in with us anyhow as there might be a perfect fit for you! Melissa is from Quebec and two of our current guests are also. In fact they spent part of Sunday evening in the common room sharing stories and some delicious cinnamon buns that the guests brought back from town! We have been trying out a new muffin recipe that is one of Melissa's specialties - mango, walnut and banana – Mmmm Mmmm. They are such a hit she has been baking a new batch almost every day!

No power? No problem!
Alberta can have some crazy weather sometimes! We had a hail storm last Thursday that shut the power down for the entire town. No power means no restaurants, but we always make sure our guests come first - so our hostess Ashley raided the pantry at dinnertime and whipped up a delicious pasta and veggie feast using our lovely gas stove - on the house for all the guests!

Banff in the summer is absolutely amazing for wildlife viewing. Baby moose have been spotted in the area, as well as bears and lots of coyotes! If you live in the city and don't get a chance to see nature like this, come stay with us and there will be lots to see.

For the next few days, the weather forecast is a mixture of sun and clouds with temperatures in the low 20 C (70 F) range. Not too hot and not too cold - perfect for hiking in the mountains!
